How to Set Up Your Organization and Add Team Members in Brelly

Creating organizations, inviting team members, managing roles, switching workspaces, and organization settings.

Overview

In Brelly, an Organization is your team workspace. It groups team members together so they can collaborate on claims. You can belong to multiple organizations and switch between them.

Location: Settings > Organizations


Organization Types

When creating an organization, you select a type that describes your team:

  • Policyholder — Homeowners or property owners managing their own claims

  • Public Adjuster — Licensed adjusters representing policyholders

  • Attorney — Licensed attorneys representing policyholders

  • Contractor — Repair contractors working on insured properties


Creating an Organization

  1. Go to Settings > Organizations

  2. Click Create Organization

  3. Fill in:

    • Name (required) — Your organization's name

    • Type (required) — Select Policyholder, Public Adjuster, or Contractor

    • Logo (optional) — Upload an image for your organization

  4. Click Create

You automatically become the Owner of any organization you create.


Inviting Team Members

Only the organization Owner can invite new members.

How to Invite

  1. Go to Settings > Organizations

  2. Select your organization

  3. Click Invite Members

  4. Enter email addresses (multiple addresses can be entered, separated by commas)

  5. Click Send Invites

What Happens Next

  • Each person receives an invitation email with a link to join

  • The invite link is valid for 7 days

  • If someone doesn't respond, you can resend the invite — this generates a fresh link

  • You can cancel a pending invite before it's accepted


Accepting an Invite

  1. Click the link in the invitation email — or log into Brelly and you'll see the invite popup

  2. Review the organization name and who invited you

  3. Click Accept to join or Reject to decline

Important: You must be logged in with the same email address the invite was sent to. If the emails don't match, you'll see an error — ask the Owner to resend the invite to your correct email address.

What They Can Do

Owner

Everything — invite members, remove members, manage integrations

Member

Access all claims and files within the organization. Cannot invite or remove other members

The person who creates the organization is the Owner. There is currently no way to transfer ownership.


Managing Members

Viewing Members

Go to Settings > Organizations and select your org. The right panel shows all current members with their names, emails, and profile photos.

Removing a Member (Owner Only)

  1. Find the member in the list

  2. Click the remove button next to their name

  3. Confirm the removal

Removed members immediately lose access to the organization's claims and files.


Switching Between Organizations

If you belong to multiple organizations:

  1. Go to Settings > Organizations

  2. Click the organization card you want to switch to

Your workspace updates to show that organization's claims and data.


Deleting an Organization

Deleting an organization cannot be done directly from the app. Please reach out to Brelly support for assistance — we'll take care of it on our end.


Common Questions

Q: Can I be in multiple organizations? Yes — you can create or join multiple organizations and switch between them at any time.

Q: Someone says they didn't receive the invite email. What should they do? First, have them check their spam or junk folder. If it's not there, verify with the admin that the invite was sent to the correct email address. If the email was correct and it's still missing, have the Owner go to Settings > Organizations, find the pending invite, and click Resend to generate a fresh link.

Q: I clicked an invite link but got an error about email mismatch. You need to be logged into Brelly with the same email address the invite was sent to. Ask the Owner to send a new invite to your correct email address.

Q: Can I change my organization's name or type? Yes — the Owner can update the organization name and type at any time from the Organizations page in Settings.

Q: I accidentally removed a member. Can I undo it? No — but you can send them a new invite to rejoin the organization.
