Two Ways to Start a New Claim
Brelly gives you two ways to start a new claim: Guided Setup when you have claim documents ready, or Quick Create when you want to start with a blank project and add details yourself.
From the main app, click New Claim to choose the option that fits your workflow.
Choose Guided Setup If
Guided Setup is the best place to start when you already have claim documents and want Brelly Co-Pilot to help organize the claim from the beginning.
Use Guided Setup when:
You already have claim documents ready to upload
You want Brelly to pull key information from those files
You want to move into a ready Co-Pilot claim analysis thread when setup is complete
To start:
Click New Claim
Choose Guided Setup
Enter a project name
Add optional claim context and upload your documents
Let Brelly process the files and open the ready Co-Pilot claim analysis thread
Guided Setup currently accepts PDF, DOC, DOCX, MD, and TXT files.
If processing takes a few minutes, Brelly can keep working in the background while you continue elsewhere in the app.
Choose Quick Create If
Quick Create is the better fit when you want to open a blank claim first and enter information manually.
Use Quick Create when:
You want a blank claim first
You do not have documents ready yet
You prefer to add claim details step by step yourself
To start:
Click New Claim
Choose Quick Create
Enter a project name
Open the new claim workspace
Add or edit information manually in Overview, Property Details, Files, and the rest of the claim pages
After Your Claim Is Created
Once the claim exists, you can keep building it from the claim workspace.
Add or edit claim details in Overview
Review or upload documents in Files
Add property information in Property Details
Open Co-Pilot when you want help analyzing the claim
Keep track of claim progress in the Timeline
When is a claim ready? With Quick Create, your claim is ready right away. With Guided Setup, the claim becomes ready once setup finishes, after your documents are uploaded and processed.
If you use Brelly Automations, this is also the moment automations with the "New claim becomes ready" trigger run. Co-Pilot can start your standard first steps, like a claim review or strategy pass, automatically on each new claim. Automations are early access and may not be available for every account.
Tips
Start with Guided Setup if you already have claim documents ready
Use Quick Create if you want a blank claim first
You can always edit later because claim details are not locked after creation
Automate your first steps — if you start claims the same way every time, set up an automation with the New claim becomes ready trigger. Co-Pilot will run your usual first steps as soon as each new claim finishes setup.
Use a clear project name so the claim is easy to find later
